Drops of Green

Introduction

It was Irish “Pot Luck” that brought the Band “Drops of Green” together. They met for a “Session” after a hard nights Entertainment in the “Templebar Pub” in the Heart of Dublin. What was supposed to be a few Jars, and a bit of a “Session” turned all the tables around for the band. It ended up that the Pub was full with a very enthusiastic audience from every country in the world. So the band played on until the early hours of the morning, and at the end of it all they decided to form a Band together. “Drops of Green” were born. They began to practise together, and started to develop their own style of music. Gigs were arranged and became more and more sucessful. The band played all over Ireland and England to sold out venues. Then came the first offers from across the water. USA and Australia were now showing interest in “Drops of Green”. They are now jetting over and back to the USA and Australia, doing several Shows a year at different venues all over these countries. During the past few Years the Band have become a very prominent figure in the World of Irish Folk Music, and have also experienced a ten month tour of none other than “Las Vegas” itself. Its not what they play, its the way they play it, that makes this band stick out like a sore thumb. They take Irish Trad Songs and Tunes and make them their own with a sound that has to be heard to be believed. Their voices blend together to produce a sound that is enjoyment pure, to any Irish Folk Fan.
